Reds, Breads and Spreads Fall Winetasting Event

 Common Ground invites you to join us for an evening of Reds, Breads and Spreads at our Fall Winetasting Event. Try a variety of wines and learn more about them from our knowledgeable presenters. Enjoy savory hors d'oeuvres and sublime sweets prepared by some of the finest cooks in Lorain County. Take a chance on our Chinese raffle and win fantastic prizes donated by local businesses and individuals. It’s an evening you don’t want to miss!
Once again this year, the event will be held in the beautiful Atrium Lobby of the Lormet Community Federal Credit Union in Amherst. During the event, you'll be entertained by the ethereal and serene beauty of the sounds of the harp, artistically presented by harpist Rebecca Burkhardt. Doors open at 6 p.m. and this is the perfect time to meet some friends after work in a casually elegant setting where you can nosh and network to your heart's content.
Tickets are only $25 per person and can be purchased on line or from any Board member or staff person of Common Ground. Proceeds support the programs and services of Common Ground. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Drumming Weekend Energizes Participants!

 Drumming Retreat Weekend Garners Rave Reviews!
Well over 100 people from all over Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania joined us at Common Ground July 17-18 for our annual drumming retreat weekend. Three different events gave participants numerous opportunities to experience the joys of community drumming and sample holistic health services, all set in the splendor of our 21-acre campus in the heart of the Vermilion River Valley.
Friday evening, more than 30 folks joined renowned drummer and drum workshop facilitator Jim Donovan for the peace and serenity available in his popular program "Yoga of Drum and Chant." Saturday offered participants a full day of drumming workshops facilitated by Common Ground staff as well as by Jim Donovan and members of his band. During an extended lunch break, attendees took advantage of opportunities for massage, tai chi, meditation, hiking, and simple relaxation. The weekend was capped off by an incomparable performance by "Drum the Ecstatic International," who performed under the stars to a very enthusiastic crowd who couldn't seem to stop dancing along with the compelling rhythms! Two lucky folks even walked away with free registration to Jim Donovan's widely acclaimed Summer Rhythm Renewal in Loretto, PA!
